Every year, the Leader Council of Mercy Home gathers with noted community and business leaders at a luncheon to honor the accomplishments of Mercy Home’s student graduates.
Our Graduates’ Luncheon, hosted by the Leader Council of Mercy Home now celebrating its 10th year, raises critical funds to support our kids’ continued educations, and is a remarkable opportunity to celebrate the commitment our young people have made to realizing their academic potential.
The Graduates’ Luncheon is a unique Chicago event that features an address by a Mercy Home graduate, in addition to a featured keynote speaker. Past notables include the President of Ariel Investments, Mellody Hobson; bestselling author, Elizabeth Berg; celebrity chef, Charlie Trotter; architect and MacArthur genius grant winner, Jeanne Gang; and author and filmmaker, Alex Kotlowicz.
This year, the Graduates’ Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. on May 22, 2012, at the Hilton Chicago.

We are pleased to announce that this year’s keynote speaker is Chicago Public Library Commissioner, Mary Dempsey. Dempsey, a highly regarded community leader, helped to found the Leader Council in 2002 and served as its inaugural chairman. She will join her fellow Council members in celebrating a decade of service to children in need by honoring Mercy Home’s 2012 graduating class.
The Graduates’ Luncheon is the culmination of the Leader Council’s work year round to improve educational opportunities for young people at Mercy Home. Proceeds from this event fund our children’s tuition and books, in addition to supporting educational activities such as tutoring, math and reading remediation and after school learning programs.
Be a part of the solution. Help Mercy Home’s children succeed in school by supporting the Graduates’ Luncheon.
